In this issue of lawn care news we present the products recommended for the fall. You may want to hold off on the fertilizer until later in the month when it should be a little cooler, however apply your insecticide on schedule. Keep your eye out for lingering symptoms of fungus in the lawn and treat with Systemic Fungicide.

Fertilizer
September or October is the time to apply lawn fertilizer. We recommend Fertilome Premium Lawn Food which is a granular fertilizer for all types of southern lawns. Most of the nitrogen in Premium is "slow release" so fewer nutrients are wasted or lost as pollutants into our waterways. To find out more about the schedule we recommend for insecticide applications check out our Lawn Maintenance Schedule.
HuMic
To compliment the fertilizer, you'll also want to apply Natural Guard HuMic. This product naturally composts the dead grass blades returning valuable nutrients to the soil. Derived from remains of decomposed organic plant materials, humic acids enhance nutrient uptake and stimulate soil microbial life. Humic Acid encourages root development.
Insecticide
The insecticide for September is Hi-Yield Turf Ranger II. The dual active ingredients of Zeta-Cypermethrin and Bifenthrin have sufficient knockdown and residual activity to provide remedial and residual control of surface feeding pests. This is a great product for getting rid of unwanted pests and keeping them out!
Fungicide
We have been getting a lot of rain lately so beware of fungus in your grass. Signs to look for are yellowing grass blades as well as brown patches scattered randomly throughout your yard. Fertilome F-Stop helps prevent and treat for fungus in your yard. For more information about fungus in your yard, check out our video on youtube by clicking here
