The best known heirloom variety. Root nearly round, very smooth, medium size. Flesh deep red zoned with darker shade. Most excellent quality and remains in good condition for a long time. The flavor is rich and sweet. Heirloom variety.
Culture: Sow every two weeks in April through August for a continuous supply. Beets prefer cool weather and are at their tender best when grown quickly with plenty of moisture. Soil should be loamy high in organic matter.
Harvest: Pick when roots have reached 3" in diameter.
