A fine white Chinese strain that has a higher percentage of very fine celery-like stalks. Heirloom variety.
Culture: Seeds should be sown thinly, 1/4" (6 mm) deep, spacing rows 18" (46 cm) apart. Seeds germinate in 7 to 10 days. When seedlings are about 3" (7.5 cm) tall, thin to 6" (15 cm) apart.
Harvesting: Should begin about 50 days form seeding when the plants are 10"-14" (25-35 cm) high. The outside stalks are harvested repeatedly, just like leaf lettuce. The main growth period occurs in early June to August.
