Orchid Mix is a blend of sphagnum peat chunks, red fir bark,
hardwood charcoal, and volcanic lava rock combined to create an
environment that will prevent the roots from being kept too wet while
providing humidity. Excellent drainage and secure anchoring for the roots make this long lasting mix ideal for orchids.

The main purpose of repotting orchids is to provide fresh media, not necessarily a larger pot, but pot size should be selected according to the size of the root mass. Most orchids like to be a little tight in their pots. Orchids transferred to overly large pots tend to concentrate their energy on root growth and may not show new growth or foliage for several months.

Orchids may be potted in different types of pots: plastic, clay or decorator pots. The type of pot selected may influence watering frequency. Clay pots require more frequent watering as they will dry out a little faster. Always select pots with drainage holes. It is recommended to place pieces of broken terra cotta or fertilome Charcoal in the pottom of the pot to protect the roots from standing water.
