Tasty all summer, won't bolt. Mild and sweet! Savored leaves top pale ivory celery-like stalks on the Lucullus Swiss Chard Greens. This is the most popular variety of Swiss Chards. Named after the Roman general of the same name. Heavily crumpled with wide, broad white ribs about 20 inches tall. Tolerates hot weather and grows until first frost. Heavy producing plant with good flavor. 52 days. Heirloom variety.

Culture: Swiss chard can be directly seeded in early spring as soon  as the ground can be worked or in late summer for a fall crop. Chard is quite versatile because it can withstand summer heat and mild frosts.

Harvesting: Harvest Swiss chard by cutting off individual stalks from the entire plant, leaving 2 inches of stalk at the base. Leave the plants in the ground, and they will produce a second crop with smaller leaves.
